Week 2: Reflective writing

For my second lecture in MIS, my lecturer Haider explored the topic of reflection. I have discovered that there are rational and emotional feelings. I do this in order to develop a deeper understanding and improve my skills in the future. 

What is reflection?

·         Exploration; rational

·         Why do it?

Contexts and purposes:

·         Episodes and experiences

·         Development

·         Incident

Borton's 3 elements

1. What? Describe what has happened.
2. So what? why did things happen 
3. Now what? What will I do next time?

The lecture was very informative and enjoyable. i have learnt what is required and what to do.

Seminar

In the seminar, my lecturer went through Excel exercises such as formulas and data interpretation. It was a great reminder as it allowed me to make an effort and remember the correct formulas. We also did group work. However, i was late to class which means i missed my turn.

·         What is your role as an analyst?

·         What steps are required to analyse a business case?

·         To identify the most important facts surrounding the case

·         Identifying the key issue

·         Specify alternative actions

·         Evaluate each action

·         Recommend the best action.
